Bam, and just like that we're on a new platform. In light of the downtime Curse Forge has been having over the past few months, we've now added some new platforms to our list.
The first is Modrinth. But what is that I hear you ask? Modrinth is kind of like Curse Forge. Its aim is to do everything Curse currently does, but it's open-source and more community-driven. I personally really like what they're trying to build here, and that is one big reason why we've started to support the platform
How To Download Modrinth Packs
Modrinth doesn't have its own launcher, instead, it's opted to be supported by already popular launchers such as the ATLauncher and MultiMC. For MultiMC you do need to opt into the dev version for Modrinth packs to show So if you would like to use Modrinth. Download these launchers, and select Modrinth when looking for a pack.
All packs are now also once again supported on Technic. We dropped support for the platform due to how much pain it is to manage a solder modpacks. Solder is Technic's content management system, and it really isn't built for modern modpacks. Every modpack news is to be uploaded one, by one, as a zip. When you have packs with over 200 mods, this is a real-time hog. We did try to improve things by using more community-based versions of solder like solder.cf, but this has its own issues.
Tehnic modpacks moving forward will no longer be using solder, and instead, be uploaded as just zips. This will mean that you can no longer swap versions on Technic, and updates will be slower, but sadly that's a trade-off we have to make.
If you want to use older versions of packs, then you'll need to use Modrinth or Curse Forge.
